Biography

Ariana Case is a Senior Researcher with the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative at the University of Southern California. A graduate of USC Annenberg, she has since co-authored numerous benchmark studies on diversity and inclusion across film, television, and digital platforms. Her publications include Latinos in Film: Erasure On Screen and Behind the Camera, Inclusion or Invisibility? Comprehensive Annenberg Report on Diversity (CARD), and the annual Inequality in Popular Films  report, among others. Case has also collaborated on the Inclusion Initiative's research on film festivals, animation and visual effects, film criticism, aging, and mental health in storytelling.

In addition to her contributions to research reports, Case trains undergraduate and graduate students in quantitative content analysis, teaching courses that provide hands-on experience in research design, coding, and data reliability. Her mentorship has helped students critically evaluate patterns of inclusion in media while contributing to studies with global reach. Her work bridges data-driven research and cultural impact, with a particular focus on authentic storytelling for historically excluded communities. A lifelong Southern Californian, she brings experience from both the nonprofit sector and the entertainment industry to her role advancing equity and inclusion in media.
